Comcast Corporation, a Best Buy retail partner, will be the primary sponsor of the No. 66 Haas CNC Racing Chevrolet and driver Jeff Green during the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup Series weekend at Dover (Del. ) International Speedway.

The Dover event marks the second time this season Green’s Chevrolet Impala SS is carrying a special black and yellow design representing Comcast, the nation’s leading provider of cable and entertainment products and services, which is headquartered in nearby Philadelphia, PA.

The design was also featured on the No. 66 entry at Chicagoland Speedway in July.

Comcast is an associate sponsor of the Haas CNC Racing team this season, appearing on the No. 66 Chevrolet in races where Best Buy is the car’s primary sponsor.

The sponsorship is designed to raise awareness of the Best Buy/Comcast partnership, which allows customers to sign up for Comcast services at Best Buy retail locations, and at www.BestBuy.com.

Green is scheduled to meet around 150 local Comcast employees when he visits a Comcast customer service call center in Dover on Thursday afternoon.

Jeff Green: “I’m proud to carry the Comcast colors again this year. I’ve had a number of people tell me it’s one of the best-looking car designs they’ve ever seen, and I definitely agree.

Comcast’s headquarters are in Philadelphia, so we’re looking forward to hosting a lot of Comcast guests on Sunday and giving them something to cheer about.”

MOST RECENT RACE AT DOVER: Jeff Green qualified 30th for the June, 2007, race at Dover, and finished 38th, five laps down to the race leaders. Green suffered a cut tire early in the event, losing precious track position when he was forced to pit under green flag conditions to replace the tire. Despite his team’s best efforts, Green was unable to get back on the lead lap.

Chassis: Haas CNC Racing Chassis No. 448 – This COT chassis is new to the Haas CNC Racing stable. The No. 66 team tested with this chassis in August at the Milwaukee Mile track in Wisconsin, and Green drove this car to a 33rd-place finish in its NEXTEL Cup Series debut at Richmond International Raceway earlier this month.

Q&A WITH DRIVER JEFF GREEN:

DOVER IS A FUN TRACK FOR DRIVERS, ISN’T IT? “Dover is definitely a track that can be a lot of fun, depending on how the car’s handling. I liked it better when they had asphalt down instead of the concrete, but it’s still a fun track.

“You can run either the high or low line, depending on how your car is reacting. Drivers always seem to like tracks with multiple grooves better. I’m usually one of the guys in the low line if my car will work down there.”

THE SEASON IS THREE-QUARTERS OF THE WAY COMPLETE. HAVE YOU ACHIEVED THE GOALS YOU SET FOR YOURSELF THIS SEASON? “No, I don’t think anyone on the team would say we’ve achieved the goals we set for ourselves at the beginning of the year. I’m sure we’re all a little frustrated that we haven’t performed better, especially in the COT races. You know, we came out and knocked out a couple of top-10 finishes in the first COT races, and I think we might have thought, ‘Hey, this COT thing is not that hard to figure out.’ Since then, we haven’t put up the finishes we’d have liked, so we’re scratching our heads a little.

“We know we’ve got to qualify better. That’s something we’ve all been saying for weeks now, but you can’t start in the back and be very successful at a short track. That’s a lot of track position to make up. The top-10 finishes we do have in COT races, we qualified 15th or higher. We haven’t qualified in the top-20 since New Hampshire back in July.

“It’s kind of ironic. We didn’t have our mile-and-a-half program where we wanted it early on, and it’s gotten better, but we started strong in the COT and now we’re having a tougher time with it.”

JEFF GREEN’S HISTORY AT DOVER SPEEDWAY: In 14 NEXTEL Cup Series starts at Dover International Speedway, Jeff Green’s best qualifying effort and best finish came in the same event. Green qualified 12th and finished 13th in the Sept. 22, 2002, Dover Cup event, while driving for Richard Childress Racing.

HAAS CNC RACING’S HISTORY AT DOVER SPEEDWAY: In 10 NEXTEL Cup Series starts at Dover International Speedway, Haas CNC Racing’s best starting spot came with driver Jeff Green, who qualified 12th for the June, 2006, event. Mike Bliss scored the team’s best Dover Cup Series result when he finished 18th in June, 2005.
