Once again Joe Nemechek and the No. 13 Ginn Racing team fought back from adversity and the never-give-up formula resulted in a 16th-place finish Saturday night at Phoenix International Raceway. It was the fifth top-20 performance of the season for Nemechek, who gained two spots in the driver standings and now sits in 24th place.
“We fell off after a strong start to the season, but we’re coming back and it feels good, “ said Nemechek. “We missed the race in Bristol and that hurt us in the standings. But we’re now picking away at the points and heading in the right direction with consistent runs. We’re going to get better, I can feel it. “ Driving the Pinnacle Las Vegas Chevrolet, Nemechek started the 312-lap race from the 16th position. Though he had some handling issues early with his No. 13 machine, Nemechek was still keeping pace on the one-mile oval.
