Last week’s late-race wreck at Watkins Glen that led to a shoving match between Kevin Harvick and Juan Pablo Montoya on the track continued to produce opinions about Montoya’s aggressive style yesterday.
“He drives like he doesn’t know what he’s doing, to be honest with you,” said Harvick, who settled for 36th place after last week’s incident. “He can run fast but he’s all over the place and every week it seems like he runs into a different person. In four weeks it’s cost us a couple of hundred points and he shrugs it off like he doesn’t really care about anybody or anything.

Kevin Harvick has been the man to beat in the Busch Series for the last six years, now he can’t be stopped on the road courses either.
Harvick won Saturday’s Zippo 200 at Watkins Glen International, his 31st series victory that put him in a tie with Jack Ingram for second on the all-time list, and in the process won his third NASCAR road race in his last four starts. He won last year’s Nextel Cup race here, finished second at Infineon Raceway in June and won the inaugural Busch race in Montreal one week ago.

With Robby Gordon out with a faulty transmission and far, far away from Marcos Ambrose, Kevin Harvick did his thing. The win wasn’t quite as under-the-radar as his Busch Series road course victory last weekend. But Harvick took the Zippo 200 checkered flag here on Saturday evening in just as convincing a fashion, holding off Jeff Burton in second and Kurt Busch in third, unceremoniously.

Harvick’s risky pit strategy, like the one he used to win last year’s Nextel Cup race here, paid off as he was able to take the checkered flag Saturday. It was Harvick’s second consecutive Busch victory, after winning the NAPA Auto Parts 200 last week. It also marked Harvick’s second consecutive win at Watkins Glen International.

Kevin Harvick captured Saturday afternoon’s Zippo 200 Busch Series race at the Watkins Glen International road course. The No.21 Auto Zone Chevrolet crossed the finish line more than three seconds ahead of Jeff Burton.
The victory was Harvick’s series-leading fifth of the season and 31st of his Busch Series career. Harvick ties Jack Ingram for second all-time behind only Mark Martin (47). KansasCity.com
Harvick also won here last August in the Nextel Cup Series race. He’ll defend that title on Sunday afteroon in the Centurion Boats at the Glen.
Jeff Burton finished second in today’s race.
Defending race champion Kurt Busch, who won the pole today before the race, finished third. Star-Gazette.com
