Kyle Busch, Driver Of The No. 5 Carquest/Kellogg’s Monte Carlo SS: (On His Past Performances At Chicagoland. )
“The Cup race was tough for me the first year at Chicago. Last year, we figured it out a little bit and finished third. I was running the top side of the track and it worked out pretty good for us. Chicago is a fun place. I like going there. It’s a neat facility, especially now since the track has seasoned. You are able to run from the bottom to the top, which really helps. “
BUSCH: (On His Run At Chicagoland Last Year. )
“At Chicago, I was running up there following Dale Earnhardt Jr. for a while and then got a little bit better than Junior did. Then Jimmie (Johnson) got up there and followed me and then he got better than I did. It was just kind of a balancing act there on how fast exactly you could go running up next to the wall. We finished third and we were real proud of that. “
Alan Gustafson, Crew Chief Of The No. 5 Carquest/Kellogg’s Monte Carlo SS: (On His Expectations For Chicagoland And Beyond. )
“There’s been a lot of speculation about the equipment we’re getting and what Kyle is getting. I’d like to set the record straight that there is no discrimination as to who gets what at Hendrick Motorsports. It’s the same as it’s always been. We finished second last week—I’d say we were the best car out there. We are here to make the Chase and win a championship. That goal won’t change regardless what the 2008 plans are. I expect the Kellogg’s/CARQUEST team to win this weekend. We’re right on the brink, like we were last year at this time. We have a lot of momentum and I think Chicago is as good a place as any for another win. “
