Last weekend the No. 17 Dish Network Ford Fusion team conquered California Speedway and this weekend they head to the 2.518-mile Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez road course in Mexico City with Michel Jourdain Jr. behind the wheel. Jourdain has experienced success at this road course, but has never quite had the finish to show off his skills. The past two years he has been taken out while in the front of the field. Hopefully this year under the direction of crew chief Drew Blickensderfer and with the support of the No. 17 Dish Network team he will be able to earn the finish he deserves.
Jourdain, Jr. competed part-time in the Craftsman Truck Series in 2006 for Roush Fenway Racing in the No. 50 Ford F-150 Truck. Jourdain will also drive the No. 17 Dish Network Ford Fusion at the inaugural road course race in Canada on August 4.
“I am very excited to race at Autodromo Hermanos Rodriguez in Mexico City this weekend, ” said Jourdain, Jr. “The past two years, I have run very well but have been taken out before the finish. I am very happy to be racing in front of my hometown crowd this weekend. This should be my best opportunity to race for the win with Roush Fenway racing, and I cannot wait to put on a good show for all the fans down there. ”
