NASCAR’s 3M Performance 400 was postponed by rain, the fourth weather-delayed event of the Nextel Cup season.
The race at Michigan International Speedway in Brooklyn, Michigan, was rescheduled for tomorrow, Nascar said on its Web site. With rain expected then as well, it might be Nascar’s first top-level race to be pushed back two days since a 1997 event at Talladega. Mason Levinson, Bloomberg
The 23rd event on the schedule was reset for 10 a.m. ET Tuesday, making it the first Tuesday race in NASCAR’s top division since Aug. 11, 1970, when Richard Petty won at Ona, W.Va.—provided the weather doesn’t interfere again.
“It looks like we can do it logistically Wednesday, if necessary,” NASCAR spokesman Ramsey Poston said.
ESPN2 will televise the race Tuesday. SportingNews
Fans that are not camping, but wish to stay in the area for the night are welcomed to stay in their parked cars.
