After a season of memorable competition, controversy, and conflict, the payoff for the NASCAR NEXTEL Cup series came last Friday night with the presentation of the final points fund awards at New York’s Waldorf –Astoria. NEXTEL Cup Champion Jimmie Johnson collected a points fund award check for $7,317,499, bringing his 2007 total winnings to $15,313,920.
