CARL EDWARDS – No. 99 Office Depot Ford Fusion (Finished 3rd) – “It’s disappointing. It’s awesome that Sauter made it in there and Kenny Wallace and Martin Truex. They did a great job. That car, that’s the tightest race car I’ve ever had. We tried some stuff and it did not work. I don’t know. It’s just so frustrating to have a lead like that and then just have the car get so tight, but that’s the way it goes. ”
YOU WERE LOOKING UNDER THE HOOD. DID YOU LOSE POWER?
“No, I was looking at where the tires were rubbing the fenders. I was just seeing how hard they were rubbing the fenders. ”
DO YOU THINK IT WAS A TIRE ISSUE THAT MADE YOU TIGHT? “It was just extremely, extremely tight. That’s it. If I could make an adjustment, I’d raise the track bar 10 rounds. It was that tight. ”
JAMIE MCMURRAY – No. 26 Crown Royal Ford Fusion (Finished 10th) – DID YOU LEARN ANYTHING FOR NEXT WEEK? “We learned not to bring this car back. We tested with this car and our 600 car, and our 600 car is quite a bit better. We went back and changed a lot of things on this and did some aero and mechanical stuff, but we had the same problems we had at the test. Starting in the back hurt us, but even if we would have been up front, we didn’t have a car fast enough. ”
RICKY RUDD – No. 88 Snickers Ford Fusion (Finished 5th) – “We were tight, tight, tight. I thought we were gonna be free enough in practice because we tried to practice in the heat of the day and we gauged off our test the other nice and it took a lot of changes to get it freed up tonight. This car didn’t get tested. We tested two different cars and didn’t bring either one of them back. Our 600 car got a lot of night practice and day practice, so I feel comfortable about that, but we just never got this car to free up. It was just way too tight and it wouldn’t turn. ”
