Kyle Busch will meet with the press at the No. 5 Kellogg’s/CARQUEST transporter in the NEXTEL Cup garage at Martinsville Speedway on Friday at 9:45 a. m. local time.
Testing, Testing:
Kyle Busch spent part of this week at Richmond (Va. ) International Raceway getting ready for the upcoming NASCAR Busch Series event there on May 4 and will hit the. 75-mile oval again April 2-3 in preparation for the May 5 NEXTEL Cup race. The No. 5 Kellogg’s/CARQUEST team tested Caraway Speedway (Asheboro, N.C. ) on March 20 to prep for Sunday’s race at Martinsville, Va.
Busch Gets Milestone Win:
Busch’s performance Sunday at Bristol (Tenn. ) Motor Speedway marked the 152nd NEXTEL Cup victory and the 200th NASCAR win for car owner Rick Hendrick. Hendrick-owned teams have won 23 races in the Busch Series and 25 in the Craftsman Truck Series. It also netted the 600th first-place finish for manufacturer Chevrolet in Cup Series competition.
Competitive Kyle:
Busch has finished all but three of the possible 1,548 laps run over the first five events of the season for a 99.81-percent completion rate. He fell three laps down to the leader at Atlanta, marking the only race this season in which he has not led a lap. Busch has one top-five finish and two top-10s at Martinsville in four starts.
