Joe Nemechek’s No. 13 Chevrolet will have a new look at this weekend’s NASCAR Nextel Cup race at Phoenix International Raceway.
The Ginn Racing entry will be sponsored by Pinnacle Las Vegas, the distinctively designed $850 million managed condominium resort-hotel. The twin 36-story towers with 1,104 luxury residences are scheduled to open in late 2009 and will be situated on 12 acres just west of the famed Las Vegas Strip.
“Pinnacle Las Vegas embodies a bold approach in its design and execution, best described as not only creative but out-of-the-box, with an eye toward pursuing non-traditional marketing opportunities, “ said Michael Bellon, development director of Pinnacle Las Vegas and managing partner of the Falcon Group. “We believe NASCAR fits that description and is an untapped market for luxury high rise sales. We are aligning ourselves with a leading international brand known for its excitement and innovation - all attributes that fit Pinnacle. “
The No. 13 Pinnacle Las Vegas Chevrolet will make its on-track debut during Thursday’s practice session at Phoenix’s one-mile oval. The 312-lap Nextel Cup race is slated for Saturday, beginning at 5:30 p. m. PDT. The race will be televised live on FOX.
“Pinnacle Las Vegas is a stunning development and we are thrilled the company is partnering with Ginn Racing in its first venture in motorsports, “ said Jay Frye, CEO and general manager of Ginn Racing. “We look forward to delivering results to Pinnacle, both on and off the track. “
Nemechek, who continues to make gains with the new Ginn Racing team, is excited about the Pinnacle Las Vegas sponsorship as the NASCAR circuit heads to one of his favorite tracks.
“It’s always exciting when a new sponsor joins our team, “ offered Nemechek. “We’re a new team and getting better each week. I’ve always enjoyed racing at Phoenix and I look forward to bringing home a strong performance in our No. 13 Pinnacle Las Vegas Chevrolet. “
