Sunoco, the Official Fuel of NASCAR, is back for the second straight year as a partner of the 2007 Chick-fil-A Kyle Petty Charity Ride. This year Kyle Petty, along with his wife Pattie, will lead over 275 motorcycle riders more than 2,800 miles starting from Bar Harbor, ME on July 14 and ending in Hollywood, FL on July 21.
On Monday, July 16, the segment of the ride from Saratoga Springs, NY to Gettysburg, PA is sponsored by Sunoco. Fans can show their support for the participating riders on Sunoco Day with festivities at Battlefield Harley-Davidson located at 21 Cavalry Field Road in Gettysburg, PA. Activities begin Monday at 4:45pm and include a concert by local musical act, Chris Woodward, live radio broadcast by 107.7 WGTY, and several guest speakers.
“Sunoco is proud to be involved with the Kyle Petty Charity Ride which helps so many children and their families, ” said Robert W. Owens, Sunoco’s Senior Vice President of Marketing. “We’re also proud to support the ride with Sunoco Day activities in Gettysburg, as well as at several of our locations throughout the Northeast. ”
Fans in the Northeast who wish to show support for the Ride’s participants can catch the action during fuel stops at the following locations:
Saturday, July 14 – Ascutney, VT – Sunoco station on Rt. 131
Sunday, July 15 – Ticonderoga, NY – Sunoco station @ intersection of Montcalm & Champlain
Sunday, July 15 – Gansevoort, NY – Sunoco station on Ballard Road
Monday, July 16 – West Hazelton, PA – Sunoco station at Rt. 93 & Kiwanis
“We’re grateful for everyone who supports the Ride like Sunoco, ” said Kyle Petty. “All of the riders, sponsors and fans who get involved each year make it possible to donate essential funds to Victory Junction Gang Camp and other children’s charities. ”
Sunoco’s participation in the Ride is just a portion of their overall support for the Victory Junction Gang Camp. More than $1 million dollars have been raised for the Camp in the past few years through Sunoco’s marketing initiatives including the Sunoco/OCC Bike Sweepstakes, the holiday toy truck programs, and the recently opened Sunoco Welcome Center located at the entrance of the Camp’s 72-acre facility.
