The Dale Earnhardt Foundation is encouraging race fans to bring new or gently used books to donate to The Dale Earnhardt Foundation Book Center when they visit Dale Earnhardt, Inc. during Bank of America 500 race week.
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation Book Center will provide much-needed reading material to the thousands of women and children that temporarily call the Charlotte, N.C. -based Center of Hope home.
“Reading is something that all of these women, and perhaps more importantly, the children, need to do, ” said Teresa Earnhardt. “Through the generosity of supporters, The Dale Earnhardt Foundation Book Center will provide an opportunity for all of the Center’s residents to find inspiration and enjoyment from reading. ”
Through its large and loyal fan base, the team and foundation are encouraging the donation of any type of book as a free gift to shelter residents. New or slightly-used inspirational, self-help, career development and children’s books, as well as, traditional fiction and non-fiction works are needed.
The Dale Earnhardt Book Center project will be an ongoing initiative as shelter residents are permitted to keep any book they find helpful. The shelves will continually be replenished by supporters and The Dale Earnhardt Foundation.
The Dale Earnhardt Foundation’s special Dale Tribute Trailer will be on display in front of Dale Earnhardt, Inc. throughout the Oct. 8-13 race week to receive donated books. Foundation staff and volunteers will be on site from 9 a. m. to 5 p. m. Monday-Friday and Saturday from 10 a. m. to 4 p. m. In addition, special collection bins are located in the public showroom.
