As the outside concrete retaining walls lining the legendary track were being pressure-washed the familiar bright red of the Winston cigarette brand, longtime sponsor of NASCAR’s premier division from 1972 until 2003, was uncovered directly across from the logos of the current series sponsor, Nextel.
