Tommy Archer Fastest In Practice At Mid Ohio


LEXINGTON, Ohio – Tommy Archer, of Duluth, Minn., set the fastest SCCA Pro Racing SPEED World Challenge GT practice time for the Mid-Ohio SPEED GT presented by Remington. Ritch Marziale, of Tempe, Ariz., was second on the day followed by Eric Curran, of East Hampton, Mass.

Archer used the final seconds of the afternoon practice session to record a lap nearly a second faster than the quickest morning session time. The No. 13 Foametix Dodge Viper Pilot clocked a 1:26.613 (93.852 mph) to top the day.

Marziale’s morning time kept him second quickest of the day. The No. 56 All-Cut Concrete Cutting Dodge Viper pilot was unable to improve his time of 1:27.467 (92.935 mph) in the afternoon session.

Defending race winner Curran remained third-quickest on the combined practice times with a lap of 1:27.502 (92.898 mph) in the No. 30 Whelen Motorsports Chevrolet Corvette.

Brandon Davis, of Huntington Beach, Calif., ended the day fourth in the No. 10 ACS/Sun Microsystems Ford Mustang Cobra, turning a 1:27.518 (92.881 mph) in the afternoon session.

Tommy Milner, of Leesburg, Va., was fifth quickest on the day in the No. 21 Rahal Letterman Racing Aston Martin DB9. Milner entered a time of 1:27.616 in the morning session.

Jeff Courtney, of Slinger, Wis., climbed up the practice times to sixth with an afternoon time of 1:27.715 (92.672 mph) in the No. 99 KENDA/TJM/MPI Coin/Badger Components Dodge Viper.

Michael Galati, of nearby Olmsted, Ohio, was seventh in the No. 23 K-PAX Racing Porsche 911 GT3, entering a time of 1:27.797 (92.586 mph).

Randy Pobst (Porsche 911 GT3), Mike Davis (Ford Mustang Cobra) and James Sofronas (Porsche 911 GT3) completed the top 10.
