Junior’s season goes from bad to worse.
Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s frustrating season took another bad turn when he wiped out on the 118th lap.
Earnhardt failed to finish for the ninth time in 35 races, and for the third time in the last six races.
“I just lost it off (Turn) 2,” said Earnhardt, who had won twice on this track. “I got up there a little high and it just came around. I tried to save it the best I could, but I couldn’t.”
With one race to go, Earnhardt’s string of seasons with a victory is in jeopardy. He has won at least one race every year since 2000 but has not won this year. TheState.com
Unless he can solve one of his weakest tracks, the 2007 season likely will be Dale Earnhardt Jr.’s first in Nextel Cup without a victory.

Finishing 43rd in yesterday’s race was not Dale Jr.’s idea of fun. The DEI driver drove his heart out, yet again, and finished 43rd in the race at Phoenix, Arizona. First he apparently over drove the car, and crashed. Then the engine went south, probably because of the crash. This just hurts, folks. Let’s put a bullet in the head of this thing and move on to another horse.

“I just lost it. I don’t know what happened. We were actually gaining on the handling thing, and the last set of changes were good. The car was fast and we were gaining on the leaders. I don’t know, it just spun around. We were fast...”
Dale Jr. didn’t have much to say through the short stint on the one-mile oval. He was very angry at another driver who smashed into the back of the Bud car around lap 50. The contact hurt the handling of the car and upset the driver. FoxSports.com
