Airwaves Ducati will visit one of the fastest tracks on the British Superbike calendar this weekend, for round 5 of the championship. The 1.952 mile Snetterton circuit in Norwich was originally an airfield and the two former runways now make two of the longest and fastest straights in the UK.
In qualifying at Snetterton last year the Airwaves Ducati riders rode two of the fastest times ever seen at the circuit and qualified first and second on the grid. In the two exciting and action packed races that followed Leon Haslam achieved two 2nd places and Gregorio Lavilla came 3rd in the first race but failed to finish a dramatic second race.
The speed required on Snetterton’s long straights coupled with few opportunities to overtake makes Snetterton a challenging circuit for the Ducati’s. However, having achieved their first one-two of the season in the last round at Oulton Park, the team are confident for a good result this weekend.
