Ben Spies marked his first visit to Monza with the quickest time during two days of testing at the Italian circuit.
The Yamaha World Superbike rider was testing at the circuit ahead of the FIM Superbike World Championship round at the same venue in May.
His first visit to the high-speed track, which will host races nine and ten of the championship next month, Spies pumped in a best lap time of one minute 45.3seconds, two tenths quicker than second place Noriyuki Haga and four tenths up on Michel Fabrizio’s leading effort from day one.
