Track Officials to Increase Runoff at Turn 5 Prior to Superbike Weekend in Sonoma



On-track safety continues to be a primary objective at Infineon Raceway as track officials have begun a project that will create additional runoff at Turn 5. The work will be completed by the Kawasaki AMA Superbike Showdown, presented by Supercuts, May 18-20.

Track officials met with riders at the recent Yamaha-sponsored test session, and after hearing their concerns, will address Turn 5 on the road course. The safety barrier at the crest of Turn 5 will be moved back an additional 40 feet, giving riders up to 155 feet of runoff in the area.
