Troy got back to podium ways with a superb second place in race one and a third in race two at Donington today. The third round of this year s Superbike World Championship saw a pair of hotly-contested races, with the second an absolute cracker. With a little bit more luck today, Troy would ve given Yamaha its first win of the year, but instead that honour went to his team mate Noriyuki Haga.

Race one started with a battle between Troy Bayliss (Ducati) and James Toseland (Honda), which ended when Bayliss crashed out after highsiding at Coppice. Toseland then controlled the race from the front, though he was hard pressed by Troy towards the end of the 23-lapper and might have been in trouble if the race went on a few laps longer. Max Biaggi (Suzuki) took third, with Noriyuki Haga a long way back in fourth. Fifth was Lorenzo Lanzi (Ducati) ahead of Fonsi Nieto (Kawasaki) in sixth.
