Michel Fabrizio has failed to finish four of the six races he has started at Misano, something he will be aiming to change this weekend as he tries to regain second in the 2009 World Superbike championship from Ben Spies.
It’s been an impressive year for Fabrizio, who has taken his first WSBK win, seven other podiums and scored almost twice as many points as at the same time last year, when he was only eighth in the championship.
“Misano is not one of my favourite tracks as I’ve had a lot of bad luck there over the years and have never been able to get strong results,” admitted Michel, whose best Misano finish so far is a sixth place in 2006.
“I’m back in third place in the championship but, after Salt Lake, me and Ben are extremely close now so I’ll be looking to bring home as many points as possible from the track this weekend,” he added.
