The V8 Supercar Series is making an ambitious bid to become involved in Formula One’s night race in Singapore which starts next year.
V8 Supercars chairman Tony Cochrane has revealed he has had discussions with organisers of the F1 street race. The V8 Supercars would race during the day before the big boys of the motorsport world come out at night. NZCity.co
Cochrane has also said that V8 Supercars will continue with the Desert 400 race in Bahrain and is also talking about running street races in Perth and in Sydney. The Oran Park circuit in New South Wales is to close next year and that would mean that the V8 Supercars might not be seen in New South Wales at all unless a deal can be struck as the V8 Supercar organisation is not at all keen on Eastern Creek.
