Gold Coast V8 driver David Besnard is set to take the fight for the NZV8 Championship down to the wire during the final round of the championship this weekend at Pukekohe Park Raceway near Auckland.
Besnard, one of Australia’s most versatile motor racing drivers, enters this weekend’s final round of the New Zealand Championship in third place, 81 points adrift of championship leader John McIntyre.
The Queenslander was leading the championship after the opening two rounds. Besnard also claimed the victory in the penultimate round at Invercargill aboard his Hydraulink Ford Falcon to confirm his title as one of the pacesetters throughout the highly competitive seven round series.
With a total of 225 points up for grabs across this weekend’s three races Besnard believes the title is still within reach but he will have to have some luck on his side if he is going to finish up in the number one position.
