Unstoppable David Sieders continued to steamroll the competition in Race 3 of the Aussie Racing Cars at Eastern Creek as he claimed his third successive race victory.
Sieders fought with Richie Rapa and James Ward in the early stages of the race, but managed to pinch a break on the duo while setting lap record pace.
“I was surprised with the margin that I was able to pull on the field in the middle of the race, ” Sieders said.
“Unfortunately something happened to both Rapa and Ward and I was able to ease my way to victory. ”
Paul Kemal came from eighth on the grid to finish second place as he carved his way through the highly competitive 40-strong field.
“I got an average start and lost a few positions, ” Kemal said.
“But I was able to catch and pass the field ahead and ended up finishing second which is a great result considering I had to recover from a DNF in Race 1. ”
Ben McCashney scored an impressive third place as he stormed through the field from 11th on the grid after also failing to finish the opening race.
“The DNF in Race 1 really set us back this weekend, but the car was set-up really well and that allowed us to push through the pack, ” McCashney said.
Rapa and Ward both hit trouble throughout the 10 lap race, Rapa ran wide and lost a number of positions while Ward encountered damage that dropped out of the race.
Steve MacGregor continued his assault on the Masters Cup and was the victor over Shane Wolki by 1.5 seconds in a hotly contested race.
“I had a drama before I went out onto the grid as I could here something rattling inside the cabin when I started the car up, ” MacGregor said.
“We later found out that the exhaust was barely holding on and we were lucky to get through the race without any major dramas; to come through and win was even better. ”
Wolki managed to climb through the field after a fantastic start and broke into the 1.44’s for the first time this weekend. Mark Duckworth picked up third.
