NASCAR Truck Series Race at Homestead - Q & A With Race Runner-Up Matt Crafton |
The seventh and final Pukekohe V8 Supercar round began in mild and sunny conditions in NZ today. The Holden Racing Team is looking to go back to back at the track that delivered Mark Skaife his record equalling round win in 2006 and if today’s practice is any guide, those high expectations are well justified. Both cars finished in the Top 10 in practice, with #22 Todd Kelly delivering a scorching 55.7719 around the 2.8km Pukekohe circuit.
While Todd Kelly set the pace, 22 cars lapped within a second of his fastest time. Kelly held out James Courtney and Mark Winterbottom in BF Falcons with the Toll HSV Dealer Team cars of Garth Tander and Rick Kelly rounding out the top five.
