Britek Motorsport will hold its second annual Open Day at the team’s Melbourne headquarters on Abbotts Road in Dandenong South on Saturday 8 September from 10am-3pm.
Britek Motorsport prepares and campaigns entries in the V8 Supercar Championship Series as well as the Australian Rally Championship.
On the V8 side, fans will get the chance to meet team owner and driver of the #25 Fujitsu Ford Jason Bright, driver of the #26 IRWIN Racing Falcon Alan Gurr, as well the team’s endurance drivers for Sandown and Bathurst Adam Macrow and Warren Luff.
From the Pirtek Rally Team will be Michael Guest and Darren Windus, along with their Ford Fiesta Super 2000 cars. These are the only two Super 2000 versions of the Fiesta in the world.
The Open Day will feature tours of the facility, including the race transporters, engine shop, sub assembly, fabrication, paint and panel, machining and engineering.
Fans will have the chance to buy merchandise and used race panels from the V8 Supercars and rally cars.
The day will include displays from team sponsors as well as various Ford and go-kart clubs.
A BBQ, face painting and other children’s activities will keep everyone in the family occupied.
“It is the second time we’ve opened the doors to the public, after a very successful event last year, ” said Bright.
“This will be an excellent opportunity for not only fans, but I’m sure the wider community who will enjoy looking inside a professional racing organisation.
“This is a great time to hold our Open Day. The following weekend is a very busy time for us with the all-important Sandown 500 for the V8s, plus we have the Great Lakes Rally in New South Wales.
“Our business relies on fan support and this is why the Britek Motorsport Open Day is an excellent way to give back to our supporters. “
Britek Motorsport is situated at 291-295 Abbotts Road Dandenong South. There is plenty of parking at the top-end of the facility with attendees advised to follow parking directions on the day.
