Jim Beam Racing proved that they are a force to be reckoned with in this year’s V8 Supercar Championship after claiming 2nd place overall for the round in the Teams’ championship, and being the first Ford Falcons across the line today in Perth.
After the final two 50 lap races, both Jim Beam Racing Falcons completed the round in the Top 5 positions, with Steve Johnson close to a podium finish in 4th place, and his team mate Will Davison finishing right behind him in 5th place.
Both races were hard fought with the Jim Beam Fords matching the pace of the leading cars; Steve Johnson getting the jump on Mark Skaife in the last race of the day and Will Davison fighting off challenges from Todd Kelly during the last few laps.
Steve Johnson was full of praise for the team as he powered his way to 4th place, the car clearly showing potential at this early stage in the V8 Supercar season.
