Ford claimed its first round win for 2007, as the Holden Racing Team duo of Mark Skaife and Todd Kelly suffered a frustrating weekend at Winton Raceway.
Todd Kelly managed to salvage some points and a Top 10 round finish after a disappointing Race 1 yesterday, but Mark Skaife only has Eastern Creek to look forward to after an ordinary weekend that saw him finish out of the points all together.
HRT fans can take heart that even though the round was the worst both drivers have put in this year; they are still within striking distance of the Toll HSV Dealer Team’s Rick Kelly and Garth Tander who lead the Drivers Championship.
Following the Winton Round, Todd Kelly is in fourth position on 153 points and Mark Skaife is in sixth position on 104 points.

“I finished up with a handful of points to salvage a very mediocre weekend. The car was pretty good across all three races, but we were never in a position to take advantage of it.
If the last race had have turned out wet, we could maybe have taken some risks and maybe gone better, but in the dry when all the top cars can get power down with equal braking, there is not much you can do to make up track positions.
Bring on Eastern Creek! ”
Mark Skaife (30th)
“So much for celebrating 20 years as a touring car driver. I couldn’t think of a worse weekend.
I guess you have a bad weekend once or twice every year, so let’s hope this was it for 2007. ”
