Glenn McNally made his first steps today toward capping off his ‘rookie of the year’ performance in the V8 Utes Series with a strong result at Sydney’s Oran Park Raceway.
With two practice sessions and qualifying today Glenn hit his home track running in the West Coast Racing Commodore Ute where he was 6th and 11th fastest in the two practice sessions.
“We had a really good first session,” Glenn said.
“The guys at HiTech Motorsport have really got the car tuned in well this weekend.
“The second session was not as good but that was mainly due to the tyres going away a bit.”
Glenn went on to qualify 11th for race 1 tomorrow in a bid to improve his current series standing of 12th place.
“We have to wait until tomorrow for the official qualifying results as there was some sort of technical issue,” Glenn said.
“The ute is good and there is no reason why I can’t improve my position in race 1 tomorrow.
“I can’t wait to race on this track as I have had plenty of laps around here testing but none in racing.”
Glenn’s first race is tomorrow followed by race 2 on Saturday and race 3 on Sunday.
