Team BOC have once again been plagued with brake issues during practice for this weekend’s Placemakers V8 Supercars in New Zealand.
In the final V8 Supercar race at the Pukekohe circuit, both Team BOC drivers, Brad and Andrew Jones, found that stopping was the hardest thing - both Falcons developing long brake pedals after relatively short runs on the fast 2.8km circuit. Several hydraulic and brake hardware changes still not completely curing the issue which has caused the team many issues since the beginning of this year’s championship.
Compounding the issue was a small engine misfire in Andrew’s #12 Team BOC Falcon late in the session. The problem was traced to a faulty electrical connection on one of the many engine management sensors shortly after the 50 lap session. The fault cured for tomorrows qualifying session.
The Placemakers V8 Supercars continues tomorrow with qualifying and the first of the weekend’s three races.
