Team BOC make the trans-tasman voyage to New Zealand this weekend, hoping that their last visit to Pukekohe will provide a reversal in fortunes. In recent years, the team has had it’s fair share of bad luck on the short, but fast, 2.8km Pukekohe layout.
“Unlike previous years, hopefully we can steer clear of any dramas this weekend and come home with a reasonable result, ” said Brad. From next year, the V8 Supercar Championship will move from Pukekohe to the streets of Hamilton, something Andrew Jones is looking forward too.
“As far as permanent circuits go, I quite like Pukekohe and it will be a shame not to go back there after this weekend, ” said Andrew. “A street race in New Zealand is going to be huge though. V8 fans in New Zealand are defiantly a passionate breed, so to have them lining the streets of Hamilton is going to be great to see. ”
As with every year, the team really enjoy the annual NZ pilgrimage. “As far as the trip is concerned, we always enjoy our visit to New Zealand. Quite a few of our sponsors have a large presence in NZ, so it’s good to get over a day or so early and catch up with them. Coming from Albury its also nice to fly in over Auckland and see green; I haven’t seen a lush green lawn for quite a while! ” added Brad.
