Team BOC’s Andrew Jones has finished day one of the Clipsal 500 in a positive mood after qualifying inside the top 20.
Having set a goal of qualifying in the mid teens, Andrew Jones was somewhat disappointed with is final qualifying position of 18th. When compared with times from the earlier practice sessions however, Andrew is pleased with his forward progress throughout the day.
For Andrew’s team mate, Brad Jones, the day didn’t go as planned. Brake and balance issues throughout the day meant that he struggled during the qualifying session, finishing in 28th.
The first leg of the 2007 Clipsal 500 starts at 1430 tomorrow afternoon.

“I came here hoping to be somewhere between 12 and 17, so to be 18th is a little disappointing, but the progression we achieved throughout the day was really good. We started the day with a few new ideas and it took us a little while to get on top of them, but I am quite happy with where we have ended up on the grid and I’m really looking forward to a good day tomorrow.”

“I couldn’t get the balance of the car quite right today and I am fighting a bit of a braking drama at the moment, so I flat spotted quite a few tyres throughout the session which was disappointing.”
“We have a few things to try in the warmup session tomorrow; we need to try and get a good race package so that we have a good race tomorrow afternoon.”
