Team BOC have started round four of the V8 Supercar Championship Series at Winton Motor Raceway slightly confused after rain played havoc with today’s first practice session.
Early in the day, Team BOC’s Andrew Jones was quite happy with his Falcon, posting times inside the top fifty percent of the field, however, just as the session started to heat up on track, the heavens opened turning the circuit into a skating rink.
After the rain interlude, Jones wasn’t able to regain his early speed, even after moving onto fresh tyres, finishing the session in 23rd position.
For team mate Simon Wills, the session was more of a steep learning curve. Having not driven in the V8 Supercar Championship for sometime, Wills spent much of the session learning the #14 Team BOC Falcon.
Round four of the V8 Supercar Championship Series continues tomorrow with qualifying and the first race of the weekend.

“Today was quite confusing for us. We were reasonably speedy on the first set of tyres we ran, which weren’t great, but we were still able to circulate around 17th position. We then put a new set of tyres on the car and we were hoping to get a good gain, which we thought would put us up inside the top 15, but in reality we didn’t get a gain at all. With the speed that we had on the older tyre, I hope that we can get inside that top 15 in qualifying tomorrow. ”

“Today, being my first day back in a V8 Supercar for a while, was quite interesting. I had quite a good time trying to work out the in’s and out’s of the race team and what makes the car work. It’s still quite frustrating, we are a fair way off getting the happy point in the car but we how have a few ideas for tomorrow. ”
