Todd Kelly today followed yesterdays debut victory for the all new HRT VE Commodore with a second place and a resulting first round win of the year.
Todd, a narrow second behind brother Rick, finished the first Race of the year top of the table.
HRT’s Mark Skaife rebounded to finish amongst the points in seventh position and ninth position overall, with 21 points to his name.
However it was Todd Kelly – who collected 66 points in Adelaide – who stole the show and led for much of Race 2, before being overtaken by Rick Kelly with just six laps of the 78 lap circuit to go.
Todd Kelly who won the last race of 2006 and now the first race of 2007 has shown that his very strong form has continued into this season and will be looking to consolidate his early season lead when the V8s head west later this month.

“It’s a fantastic start to the season and to think we had a new car in the mix between Phillip Island and here. We have learnt a lot about the car. At times it was a bit of a struggle today. I had to drive the car at 11 tenths the whole race, right from the first lap to the last. â€
