#1 Rick Kelly:
“Last year’s Clipsal 500 set the scene for the whole year for us. We had a speedy car there, and while a couple of things hindered our results, we scored a podium and got the year off to a good start. We need to do the same this year. If our new car reacts to the Adelaide circuit like our 2006 car, we should be in for a good meeting. There isn’t a lot of difference between the new VE and last year’s VZ. It is very similar to the last one, so we should be able to pick up where we left off at the end of last season. Right now, I just want to get out there and bring home the result. In 2006, I learned a considerable amount, and as a team we made a lot of improvements.
I am really keen to make a similar gain in 2007, starting at the first round. The 2007 championship starts now. I reckon that if I can beat my team-mate, I can win the championship again. â€
#16 Garth Tander:
“We always look forward to the first race of the year. Clipsal is such a big event, one that carries a lot of prestige, so it is something we always look forward to. We go there with our all-new VE Commodore which we are pretty happy with after testing at Winton. The car feels a little better than last year’s car did at this time of the season, so I am quietly confident we can go to Clipsal and do a good job with the car straight out of the box. I think we are in for a pretty good shot. We will be looking to go there with a fast car and try to get through there without any mistakes and without too many dramas. The objective is to come away with a bag of points and a straight car. Having said that, if there is a race to win, we will be going after it. â€
