Tony D’Alberto has continued his strong form in the 2007 Fujitsu V8 Supercar series at Victoria’s Winton Raceway today where he was second fastest at the end of the day’s practice sessions.
Heavy rain overnight and into the morning made the first of two sessions a slippery one, and Tony excelled in the conditions topping the tables at session’s end.
“The car just stuck to the track and did everything right.
“We have not run on wet tyres for a few years so it was good to re-acquaint myself with how to drive on them.”
The second session was dry, which allowed Tony to attack the circuit on slick tyres, ending up second fastest at the end.
“There was just too many cars out there to get a perfect lap,” Tony said.
“It will be better in qualifying tomorrow where the field is split into two groups.”
Tomorrow’s events consist of qualifying and the first of three races with the remainder being held on Sunday.
