IRWIN took advantage of Alan’s attendance at their Lyndhurst office by throwing a luncheon for all the Victorian staff, followed by a communication on IRWIN’s racing program, some Q&A time with Alan and autograph signings.
Gurr came away from Round 3 of the V8’s in 27th position, after a series of technical issues, including throttle problems, an engine box fire, a chief engineer with a severe case of gastro, a narrow escape from a major crash involving Brad Jones and Paul Morris and a pit fine.
The upside being that history cannot repeat itself, given this was the final race for V8’s at Pukekohe.
