Wet conditions at Winton Motor Raceway hampered progress for Stone Brothers Racing during practice today with JELD-WEN Motorsport’s James Courtney and Caltex Racing’s Russell Ingall 16th and 21st fastest respectively.
The opening session of round four of the V8 Supercar Championship Series started in dry conditions which the JELD-WEN Motorsport and Caltex Racing crews used to work steadily through various set ups. At the end of the first hour, Ingall was 14th fastest and Courtney was in position 20.
The rain arrived early in the second part of the two-and-a-half-hour practice session, bringing any improvement on lap times to a halt and leaving SBR to test wet set ups.
The three-kilometre circuit dried up with fifteen minutes remaining in the practice session, resulting in a rush of improved lap times in the closing minutes.
