Stobart VK M-Sport Ford rally team driver Matthew Wilson will be attending next week’s Goodwood Festival of Speed in West Sussex downland. As a part of their continued support towards British Motorsports, Stobart Motorsport and Wilson will be present for all three days at this historical venue.

Since its foundation in 1993 the festival has become one of the world’s most diverse celebrations of motorsporting history. For spectators this is one of the few events worldwide where they can see past and present motorsport greats come together under the one roof. With unrestricted paddock access fans will be able to get up close and personal with Britain’s top F1 drivers and Wilson and his world rally colleagues; including Colin McRae, Petter Solberg, Chris Atkinson and Markko Märtin.

Undoubtedly the most spectacular attraction is the 1.16 mile hillclimb on the parkland roads in the grounds of Goodwood. Accompanying this fabulous hillclimb is a spectacular 2.05 mile loose-surface rally stage in the wooded area close to the hillclimb finish-line at the top of Goodwood hill.

Wilson will be piloting his Stobart Ford Focus RS WRC06 on all three days with two sessions per day, one in the morning and another in the afternoon. Each session will include one run up the hillclimb and three high-speed dashes around the Goodwood forest stage.

In a special offering the 20-year-old Cumbrian will be taking three exceptional young individuals, from the Teenage Cancer Trust, for the ride of a lifetime around the rally stage. This has been organised in conjunction with the Richard Burns Foundation and is something Wilson is extremely looking forward to offering these three special co-drivers.

Also on Saturday and Sunday he will be taking the highest bidders from two charity auctions who have pledged money towards the Richard Burns Foundation. Stobart Motorsport will have their full merchandise setup available all weekend where fans can come along and meet Wilson who will be on-hand for photos and autographs.

Stobart VK M-Sport Ford Team Driver Matthew Wilson said:

“I’m really looking forward to Goodwood it’s a great event and lots of fun. It’s great to have the Focus there and it will be awesome with the other WRC teams and the F1 guys there as well. I’m honoured to be able to take the three people from the Teenage Cancer Trust in the car, it will be an amazing experience for them. It’s great to see Stobart Motorsport and the Richards Burns Foundation so heavily involved and I’m sure it’s going to be a cracking event come next Friday. ”
