Chris Atkinson of Australia, driving a Subaru, finished second, 2:33.2 behind, and Loeb’s Citroen teammate Daniel Sordo of Spain finished third, 4:04.7 behind.
Loeb, who also won in Monte Carlo and Mexico this year, took the second of four stages Sunday. Over three days, he won the fifth, 11th, 12th, 15th and 20th stages.
Finnish driver Mikko Hirvonen, in a Ford, won three specials Friday but then hit a rock, lost time and had little chance of catching Loeb.
“I like difficult conditions but I thought today’s were the hardest I’ve ever faced,” Loeb stated after the 39th victory of his illustrious career.
“The conditions were extremely bad today, but throughout the event we’ve had some extremely tricky weather, too.”
“It seems to have been raining all the time and with the fog and the mud on the road it was very difficult.”
“But we had a good fight on the first day. After that we were in the lead and just had to get to the finish - though with the hard compound tyres, that was a very tough job. In some places it was very hard to keep the car on the road!”
Loeb now has 30 points to lead the overall standings, five more than Hirvonen and eight more than Atkinson.
