BP-Ford World Rally Team has strengthened its FIA World Rally Championship title challenge by agreeing a new partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA). The agreement announced this morning in the Middle East will provide a significant boost to the BP-Ford squad, winner of the manufacturers’ crown in 2006 and clear leader in both the drivers’ and manufacturers’ standings at the halfway point of the 2007 season.

CUMBRIA’S Ford World Rally team has received a boost to its FIA World Rally Championship title challenge by agreeing a new sponsorship with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority.
The agreement will see the Ford Focus World Rally cars, built and prepared at team director Malcolm Wilson’s M-Sport headquarters at Dovenby Hall, near Cockermouth, carry the authority’s logos.
The team will be renamed BP-Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team from the start of the 2008 season.
Reigning World Rally champion BP-Ford signed a landmark partnership with the Abu Dhabi Tourism Authority (ADTA), using motor-sport as an element of its continuing platform for their global communications strategy to promote the UAE capital as a rapidly emerging tourism and business destination.
BP-Ford world rally team chasing a second successive world title will partner Abu Dhabi in their remaining eight rounds of the WRC 2007 season before joining the 2008 season as the three-car BP-Ford Abu Dhabi World Rally Team.
