Frank Hasenfratz, a Hungarian immigrant, started his machining business, Linamar Corporation, over 40 years ago in the basement of his home in Ariss, Ontario. His entrepreneurial spirit, strong work ethic and commitment to quality helped Linamar grow to be a diversified, world class company manufacturing a variety of highly engineered components, modules, systems and mobile industrial products. The Powertrain/Driveline Division is the second largest parts manufacturer in Canada, and its Industrial Division is the number one producer of scissor lifts in NA today. Today, Mr. Hasenfratz is Chairman of the Board for Linamar Corporation, his daughter Linda Hasenfratz is the Company’s Chief Executive Officer. Established in 2006, the Canadian Manufacturing Hall of Fame announced its first inductees last year. Located at St. Clair College in Windsor, Ontario, the Hall of Fame will initially be housed in the Ford Centre for Excellence in Manufacturing at the Windsor campus.
