Moto GP season leader Jorge Lorenzo may miss Grand Prix of China after suffering injuries in a crash during opening practice session. Lorenzo, riding a Fiat Yamaha, was taken to hospital after initial x-rays at the track showed he may have fractured a bone in his ankle, almost certainly ending his bid for victory in China. “He hit both ankles quite hard so he has quite a lot of pain in both of them, but the bad one is the right one,” a spokeswoman for Fiat Yamaha said. “There may be a very small fracture in the right foot,” she said. The rookie Yamaha rider had an operation just over two weeks ago to relieve carpal tunnel syndrome in his right arm. The operation came only 24 hours after winning the Portuguese Grand Prix. “I don’t think Jorge will be able to ride this afternoon because he has pain in both ankles and needs a further x-ray at the hospital,” said Daniele Romagnoli, Lorenzos team manager. http://www.autoracingdaily.com/19261/
